Raise your hand if your program is being funded by Kaiser Permanente?! At the HAB45 Community Summit, everyone in the room recognized how important Kaiser Permanente has been to the fight of childhood obesity.
Kaiser Permanente recognized early on the childhood obesity problem in Contra Costa and has been a generous supporter of innovative prevention programs, including Healthy and Active Before 5. We would not be here today without their generous support. Kaiser serves as a convener, a mentor, a funder and a cheerleader for our project and has done the same for many of our Leadership Council agencies.
Jean Nudelman, Director of Community Benefit Programs — Northern California Region, accepted the award on Kaiser’s behalf. Her acceptance speech below emphasizes the importance of local collaboration (2:30 min.) The award was presented by Cally Martin, a HAB45 Executive Committee member and Deputy Director of First 5 Contra Costa.
Thank you Kaiser Permanente for you generous support and commitment to the health of Contra Costa children.
